A PLATFORM FOR STRATEGICAL LEADERS

Welcome to the 12th Edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum which will take place in the One Monte-Carlo, the newest conference centre in the heart of the Principality of Monaco.

Over the last decade, we have witnessed the continued growth of the peace-through-sport movement with outstanding actions and numerous sport-based programs that have benefited individuals and communities at local, national and international levels throughout the world. This year’s Forum will be a hub for over 600 key decision-makers including Heads of State, strategical leaders from business and the sports world, Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, representatives from civil society and international organizations, and bright young talents, who will all embark on a journey to explore the theme “Investing in Peace, Acting through Sport”. Delegates and illustrious speakers from more than 90 countries will pinpoint and share solutions to scale-up investment in longer-term efforts to transform societies and leave a sustainable legacy for generations to come.

One of the Forum’s biggest highlight this year! Our Champions for Peace club is composed of some world-famous top-level sportsmen and women, who are all personally committed to promote peace through sport.

The Forum will take place into the very latest conference centre in Monaco – the One Monte-Carlo – located in the heart of the Principality.

Peace and Sport Awards

During our famous Awards gala evening, Peace and Sport will reward people who have accomplished projects that are symbolic of sport’s capacity to bring peace.

Boris Herrmann

Offshore sailor and skipper of Team Malizia

He is a German offshore sailor and ocean explorer. Recently, Boris Herrmann sailed climate activist Greta Thunberg from Plymouth to New York City on his emission-free racing yacht Malizia II. Boris has done three laps around the world, one of them non-stop and will soon be attempting this challenge single handed for the 2020 Vendée Globe, making him the first German to compete in the race.

Veronique Lebar

President of the Sport Ethics Committee

After 15 years at the Ministry of Sport, 7 years at the French Anti-Doping Agency and a total of 25 years in sports federations, she now pursues the objective of developing and proposing concrete projects in the service of athletes, their dignity and integrity.

Didier Drogba

Peace and Sport Vice-President, Champion for Peace and Football legend

He is credited with playing a vital role in bringing peace to his country, Ivory Coast. His charity work led to the creation of Didier Drogba Foundation.

Jorn Wemmenhove

Co-Founder Humankind

Jorn is an Urban Change Maker, Social Entrepreneur and Creative Strategist. In 2005 he co-founded non-profit El Desafio Foundation, promoting youth development and local democracy in Rosario, Argentina. He also co-founded Humankind, “the agency for urban change”, organization that aims at creating cities that are human and kind to ourselves, others and our planet.

Philippe Blanchard

Founder and CEO Futurous

With a 25-year-old global expertise in Technology and mega-event, Philippe Blanchard founded Futurous, the “Olympics” of Innovation. Futurous brings mankind and machines together in friendly competition to offer education and interactivity between competitors and spectators. Mr. Blanchard has been Senior Advisor of Dubaï Minister of State during the bid phase of Expo 2020 during 7 years and he served previously as Director of Information Management Department within IOC.

He is the General Director and Founder of My Coach Sport, a start-up specialized in digital sport. He also is Vice-President of the ComEX40 at the Movement of the Enterprises of France and ambassador of the French Tech network.

The Champions for Peace club is composed of high-level sportsmen and women personally committed to the peace-through-sport movement. These athletes, who dedicate their time and fame to make sport a tool for dialogue and social cohesion, have become role-models and a true inspiration for youth around the world. This year, the Champions for Peace club will celebrate its 10th anniversary during the 2019 Peace and Sport International Forum, making this a unique and memorable edition.

DON’T MISS THE PEACE AND SPORT AWARDS CEREMONY

Since 2008, the prestigious annual Peace and Sport Awards ceremony has rewarded international and regional organizations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to peace, dialogue and social change in the world through sport.

This year the Peace and Sport Awards Ceremony will be held on December 12th in the famous Opéra Garnier in the Principality of Monaco during the Peace and Sport International Forum.
